The "Im Zelg" residential development with five apartment buildings and 164 rental apartments is being built in Uster ZH. For reasons of sustainability, the investor subsequently decided to construct the buildings, originally planned as solid structures, entirely in timber. Thanks to the collaboration between Rhomberg Bau AG, Renggli AG and Timber Structures 3.0 AG, the project could be successfully rescheduled on schedule despite the advanced stage. The TS3 technology enables a statically two-axis tensioned timber construction, which means that the rooms can be constructed without visible beams. The five buildings are almost identical and sensibly structured, which is ideal for serial production due to the repetition effect. Thanks to the high degree of prefabrication in timber system construction, the construction time can be shortened, which has a positive impact on costs. The first two buildings will be ready for occupancy in March 2025 and the apartments are already fully let. The other buildings will be ready for occupancy in fall 2025 and spring 2026.

The residential development "Im Zelg" is easily accessible by private and public transportation. We recommend that you travel by public transport, as parking spaces at the construction site are very limited.
Arrival bypublic transport
The residential development is about a 10-minute walk away. Alternatively, take the 816 bus from Uster train station to the "Uster, Will" bus stop. The residential complex is approx. 2 minutes' walk from the bus stop.
Arrival by car
There is very limited parking on site, if possible come by public transport. However, if you arrive by car, follow the signs on site.
