The municipality of Martigny built a new utility building for its swimming pool, complete with changing rooms and restrooms. The elegant and functional structure features a sleek TS3 flat roof. Without exposed beams, the roof structure appears very delicate, uniform, and light.

The Project
The technical building offers ample space for comprehensive water treatment equipment, office space, restrooms, and changing rooms. A covered wooden sunbathing area rounds out the new facility. Originally conceived as a classic timber structure with joists, TS3 technology made it possible to meet the request for a flat wooden ceiling. In addition to the height saved by omitting the joists, the point-supported construction method offers flexibility.
Construction Method
The exterior walls were constructed using a wood-frame system. Inside, load-bearing interior walls were used, and only columns were used in the utility rooms. The roof was constructed from a 170 mm thick CLT panel with a layer of gravel and solar panels.
